A Yale man died Thursday after an apparent alcohol-related crash in Payne County earlier this week.
William R. Taylor, 48, was flown to St. John Medical Center by helicopter after the 2006 Chevrolet pickup he was driving crashed on private property at 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The pickup rolled in the 68000 block of East 68th Street as Taylor was “doing donuts in a field,” troopers said. His passenger, 44-year-old Randy Lewis of Yale, was not injured.
Taylor suffered neck and internal trunk injuries. He died just before 5 p.m. Thursday, the report states.
Troopers listed the driver’s condition as intoxicated and attributed the wreck to driving under the influence.
