The Broadway touring
production of the Tony
Award-winning musical
“Mary Poppins” continues
through Sunday at the Tulsa
PAC, 101 E. Third St. The
Tulsa World’s review can be
found in today’s Scene section,
but a word of warning
— the eight-performance run
is close to sold-out.
Whenever Chamber Music
Tulsa brings groups to
Tulsa, it does a lot more
than simply present them in
a traditional concert setting.
Case in point: the Zodiac
Trio, an ensemble of young
musicians who play clarinet,
piano and violin, which will
be performing all over town
this weekend.
On Friday, the trio will be
performing for students at
Grimes and Lee elementary
schools, then the trio will
head to Fassler Hall at Third
Street and Elgin Avenue for
a “Beer, Brats and Bartok”
happy hour performance,
5:30 p.m. Friday.
The trio will also perform
Saturday morning at the
Tulsa Global Alliance Kids’
World international festival.
All this is in addition
to Chamber Music Tulsa’s
regular presentations: the
subscription-only Salon concert
8 p.m. Saturday, and the
public concert 3 p.m. Sunday
at the Tulsa PAC.

Living Water Dance Company and the Oral Roberts University
Dance Department will collaborate
on a series of performances
this weekend, featuring
original dance works by
company members and ORU
students.
Two performances will be
held at the Temple Conference
Center of Camp
Loughridge, 4900 W. Oak
Leaf Drive. These performances,
at 7:30 p.m. Thursday
and Friday, are a benefit
for the ORU Dance program;
tickets are $10.
The two groups will also
perform 7:30 p.m. Saturday
and 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ
Chapel on the ORU campus,
7777 S. Lewis Ave. These
performances are free to the
public.
Philbrook Museum of Art,
2727 S. Rockford Road, opens
its annual Festival of Trees exhibit
Saturday, as well as beginning
its Garden Glow for
2012, in which the museum’s
famed gardens are illuminated
by thousands of light.
Philbrook will also host
designer Wayne White and
director Neil Berkeley who
will screen and discuss
the Oklahoma filmmaker’s
documentary “Beauty is Embarrassing,”
about White’s
career from working on
“Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” to his
fine art work.
The event, co-sponsored
by Circle Cinema, will be at
5:30 p.m. Thursday at the
museum.
When the Tulsa Oratorio
Chorus first performed Ralph
Vaughan Williams’ cantata
“Hodie” for the first time
in 2010, the Tulsa World’s
review said this rarely performed
work could make for
an excellent holiday tradition.
That’s one reason why the
chorus is encoring this choral
depiction of the birth of
Christ as part of its concert,
7:30 p.m. Saturday at the
First Baptist Church, 403 S.
Cincinnati Ave.
The chorus will be joined
by the Tulsa Children’s Chorus,
the Holland Hall Middle School
Chorus and the Tulsa Symphony
Orchestra in this performance.
Tickets are $20, tulsaworld.com/mytix.
Actors and Children’s Theatre of
Tulsa brings back “Women on
Fire,” Irene O’Garden’s play
that presents the life stories
of a dozen women and shows
how their struggles are like
fires that can destroy, purify
or transform.
Billie Sue Thompson
directs a cast that includes
Harriett Chenault, Ione
Blocker, Sloopy McCoy, Sidney
Treat, Mellissa Harris,
Billie Sue Thompson, Noel
Fairbrothers, Rita Boyle, Jan
Simpson, Ayn Grubb and
Julie Tattershall.
Performances are 2:30 and
7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Tulsa
PAC, 110 E. Second St. Tickets
are $13-$15. 918-596-7111,
tulsaworld.com/mytix.
Letters from men and
women serving in the U.S.
military in Iraq and Afghanistan
make up the script of
“Letters Home,” a play created
by Chicago’s Griffin Theatre
that has been touring the
country since 2007.
It comes to northeastern
Oklahoma for one performance
only, 7 p.m. Friday at
the Robson PAC, 101 E. Stuart
Roosa Blvd. in Claremore.
Tickets are $20-$48. 918-
596-7111, tulsaworld.com/mytix.
