Oral Roberts University will play its first road game of the season and Kevi Luper will play her first game since being named to the Naismith Trophy early-season watch list when the Golden Eagles hit the highway Friday to face UT-Arlington.
Luper scored 23 points and freshman Taylor Cooper scored 19 in a home-opening victory against Tulsa. Luper scored 28 points the last time ORU faced UT-Arlington, sparking the Golden Eagles to a 110-58 rout.
UTA is 0-2 this season and committed a total of 58 turnovers in lopsided losses to George Washington (80-47) and Michigan State (83-39).
The Mavericks, who went 7-21 last season, were picked to finish last in the Western Athletic Conference this season.
The level of competition will be ratcheted up when ORU returns home to play a Monday game against Arkansas.
