OSU Medical Center locked down after attempted robbery

The OSU Medical Center's emergency room wing was locked down for several hours early Saturday after a man pistol-whipped an employee during an attempted robbery, Tulsa police said.
Cpl. Phil Snow said the man demanded drugs at gunpoint from the employee on the third floor of the facility at 744 W. Ninth St. and then struck the employee and fled when he was refused.
No one else was injured.
Police helped the hospital's security officers search the emergency room wing for several hours, but concluded that the man left the building immediately after the attack, Snow said.
The hospital's staff were confident that he did not enter the portion of the wing where patients were housed, he said.
The man is described as white, between 30 and 40 years old, 5-foot-9 inches tall and 165 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, and carried a black revolver, Snow said.
