Letter to the Editor: Fuming

I have been fuming after reading a post on Facebook about how great it is that Oklahoma is going to drug test recipients of food stamps.

I know an 82-year-old woman whose total income is $759 a month from Social Security. She uses public transportation to get to the doctor and grocery store. She gets a small amount of money each month in food stamps. Often she won't use the debit card because she is too embarrassed. Now, you want to make her pee in front of a total stranger to prove she does not do drugs, just to make yourself feel better.

She and 99.9 percent of the others will pass the test and you will reimburse her the cost. It will end up costing the taxpayers a lot of money. Money that could be used for education and helping those who need it.

You people don't want to get people off drugs, you want people off welfare. Why do you dance around these issues? Why don't you just come out and say what you really mean? You hide behind your WWJD bracelets and act as if you care when inside you resent anyone of a different color or belief.

Before you think I'm going to burn in your pseudo hell, let me tell you this. If I had to spend eternity with a bunch of self-righteous born again Christians, that would be my hell. So, save your prayers for yourself because you need fixing more than I do.
