Letter to the Editor: Tip of the hat

When the new CEO of the Tulsa Library was selected I wondered why it was yet another person from outside of the city and really did not expect much. The good news is I was wrong.
The library CEO, Gary Shaffer, has implemented some very positive changes, including an updated website and thousands of E-books. My husband and I are avid readers and the E-books have been a wonderful resource. And I know more positive changes are in process.
When I recently visited my neighborhood library the staff was courteous and helpful. This typically reflects a good place to work.
Our public libraries are an important resource for every resident of Tulsa County. Generations past and those to come will benefit from a library that continues to evolve to meet the ever changing needs of our growing community.
I want to thank the selection committee and Gary Shaffer.
