OSU advanced to the championship game of Puerto Rico Tip-Off by beating Akron on Thursday and Tennessee on Friday. The Vols were held to 13 field goals, a tournament record, and shot 26 percent from the field, the lowest for an OSU opponent since Dec. 31, 2007.
Jéan-Paul Olukemi, who injured his left knee Thursday, did not play against Tennessee and isn't expected to play Sunday. The extent of his injury is unknown.
The Cowboys are playing in a championship game of a regular-season tournament for the sixth time since winning the Preseason NIT in 1991.
A win would make OSU 4-0 for the fourth time in five seasons and be the 100th win in school history over a ranked team. Under Travis Ford, the Cowboys are 4-14 against top-10 teams.
The teams have met once, with OSU winning 73-64 in the 1991 NCAA Tournament.
Akron play-by-play announcer Steve French will fill in for Dave Hunziker, who broadcast the games Thursday and Friday before heading back to Oklahoma for Saturday's football game. French will be joined by former Cowboy Bryndon Manzer.
