Burglary charges were filed Monday against two Tulsa men who are accused of committing several burglaries from vehicles.
Adam Fields and Guy Charles Green Jr., both 19, are each charged with six counts of second-degree burglary and a single count of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, according to Tulsa County District Court filings.
Fields was charged separately with attempted escape from arrest or detention, court documents show.
The arrests came after police responded just after 5 a.m. Oct.13 to the 12000 block of South Delaware Avenue after a resident saw two people driving away in a white Dodge Charger, police said.
Prosecutors allege that the two had a stolen credit card and marijuana inside the vehicle when they were stopped by police.
Police also allege that Fields, the driver of the vehicle, was in the process of hiding a tire iron under the driver's seat as he talked to an officer.
Police reported finding several small bags of marijuana, pills and "a set of functional digital scales and numerous spare baggies" in the vehicle.
Police also recovered a metal window punch, flashlights, a camera case and a stolen wallet, a police report says.
Fields and Green are also accused of stealing medications, medical equipment, a projector screen and iPods from vehicles, police said.
During interviews with detectives, Green confessed to breaking into several vehicles and assisted police in finding a stolen shotgun and police vest that had been dumped in a culvert, police said.
Fields denied breaking into vehicles but said he drove Green to various locations to help gather the stolen items, police said.
Fields attempted to escape from custody by breaking several restraints, police allege.
He remains in custody at the Tulsa Jail, jail records indicate. Green has been released.
