Cox Cable is televising Friday’s Class 6A football semifinal between No. 1 Jenks and No. 3 Union, the Tulsa World has learned.
The broadcast will air on Cox 3 and 703, starting at 7:30 p.m. from Broken Arrow’s Memorial Stadium/Tiger Field.
The Trojans and Redskins, both 10-2 this season, have combined to win the last 16 Class 6A state titles -- Jenks with nine and Union with seven.
Union has won the last four championships, beating Jenks in the final in 2008, 2009, 2010 and Broken Arrow last year. Jenks last won the 6A title in 2007, beating Union in the final.
This will be the second straight Jenks-Union semifinal meeting. The Redskins won 30-29 in Stillwater last year.
Friday's game will be the 51st meeting between the teams. Jenks leads the series 31-19, but Union has won eight of the last 11 meetings, including 14-7 in both teams' regular-season opener on Aug. 31.
