Letter to the Editor: Settle down

The election is over. We all need to take a deep breath and settle down. It will improve our blood pressure and heart health. If Joan Reames ("Almost God," Nov. 14) wants to understand why "people think President Obama is so great" she should investigate some Internet sites like Newsweek/The Daily Beast, Politico, Slate, Solon and The Huffington Post. They praise and criticize Obama in a reasoned, supported manner.
We tend to believe anything we hear that supports our view of how the world works. Unfortunately, lots of false information circulates in the political realm. Hence the Tulsa World had to correct two of Reames' statements. It serves none of us to make decisions on misinformation. Before we pass on our "facts" we should verify their validity. Two good websites for this are: Snopes.com and factcheck.org.
May we all get along better in the next four years, respecting differing opinions and operating from the same facts.
