University of Tulsa coach Danny Manning announced Tuesday that Lew Evans, a junior-college forward from Casper (Wyo.) College, has signed a national letter of intent with the Golden Hurricane.

The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Evans is a Salt Lake City, Utah, native and was an All-State selection at Highland High School. As a senior, he averaged 15 points and nine rebounds while leading his team to Utah’s Class 4A title.

“Lew will be a very good addition to our program,” Manning said. “His skill set fits into what we want to do as a basketball team. Lew is a post player that is capable of playing inside and outside on the perimeter.

“We know he will be well-prepared for Division I basketball (after) playing for coach (Joel) Davidson and coach (Dan) Russell at Casper College. I’ve known Lew’s family for a while. He’s a good kid, and he’ll fit into our program to a T.”

At TU, Evans will have three seasons of eligibility.

Entering the current signing period (which expires on Wednesday), TU also had a commitment from guard Stevie Repichowski. A Lansing, Mich., native and a 3-point specialist, Repichowski currently plays at Kingdom Prep Academy in Des Moines, Iowa.

As of Tuesday, TU had not announced a Repichowski signing.
