Myra Jean Tripp Beck, 92, of Weatherford, Oklahoma and formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on November 17, 2012, at the Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Myra was born July 15, 1920, in East Lansing, Michigan to Clare D. Tripp and Edna P. Scupholm Tripp. She spent her childhood in Michigan and graduated from Bay City Central High School and Bay City Junior College. On October 12, 1940, she married Russell F. Beck at the First Methodist Church and they raised their three children in Bay City. In 1967 she and Russ moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Myra worked at the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association and at ORU as an editor and writer for various publications, retiring in 1984. She then became an Administrative Assistant to the Staff at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa where she was a member of the Beacon Class, the Cathedral Choir, and Melodears, retiring again in September 1993. Myra had the gift of hospitality and lovingly opened her home to family, friends, and ORU students. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining, reading the Bible and the latest best-seller, attending concerts and singing, and her beloved pets. Her life was defined by her faith in Christ and her love of her family. Myra was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Russ; her two brothers, Donald and Thomas Tripp; and a grandson, Jeffrey McDermott. She is survived by her three children: Gayle Beck Stevens of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Richard (Barbara) Beck of Bay City, Michigan; and Janet (Warren) Moseley of Weatherford, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kelly (Robert Crozier) McDermott; Mark (Arlene) McDermott; Stephen (Kelley) Beck; Kristen (Robert) Morse; and by ten greatgrandchildren: Megan, Dalton, Danielle, Emma, and Spencer McDermott; Lindsey and Lily Beck; and Maxwell, Myles, and Marina Morse. A Worship service celebrating her life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Tulsa on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Beacon Memorial Scholarship Fund at First United Methodist Church, 1115 S.
