Football: Flanders repeats as Southland's top player

Sam Houston State running back Timothy Flanders was named the Southland Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Flanders, a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, leads the conference with 1,151 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 187 carries for a 6.2 average. The junior from Midwest City also has 10 receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown.
