OU football talking points

Making changes
Significant changes need to be made during this week's preparation for a potent Oklahoma State offense. What will the Sooners do? Coach Bob Stoops and defensive coordinator Mike Stoops, obviously, have declined to be specific but both have admitted that the Sooners will have a different look this week. Thrown away, more than likely, is the seven defensive backs look that OU has shown, and linebackers will see more action. Which linebackers will play? That's yet to be seen. But something has to be done after the Sooners were gashed for 10 plays of 10-or-more rushing yards against West Virginia.
Special day
While Oklahoma will recognize 20 seniors during Saturday's game against Oklahoma State, one player will be honored after making only six appearances at Memorial Stadium. Justin Brown, a Penn State transfer, will take the field with his mother and father in the stands. Brown's impact on the Sooners has been evident this season, as he is the team's second-leading receiver in receptions (47) and yardage (649). He also leads the Big 12 Conference and is fifth nationally in punt return average at 16.2 yards per attempt. "The friendships that I started here will continue after I leave here," he said.
Revenge factor
There's little doubt last year's humbling 44-10 loss to the Cowboys weighs heavily in the minds of the Sooners. OU will look to avenge that defeat, much like the team has done this year in games against Texas Tech and Baylor, who tagged Oklahoma with conference losses last season. Look for revenge to be a motivating factor in Saturday's game; that said, Oklahoma State won't be an easy opponent for the Sooners.
