Lois Elizabeth (Nordstrom)
Thompson was born June 24, 1927
in Cherokee, IA to Arlie and Melva
(Crippen) Nordstrom and passed
from this life in Tulsa, OK on November
20, 2012, at the age of 85.
Lois was a strong, loving mother
who raised five children on her
own for six years. She grew up in
Iowa during the depression. She
moved to Chicago after graduating
high school to attend the Western
Union Telegraph School where
she retired from after a twenty year career
with the company. While there she met and
married John Perkins and moved to Texas.
After John’s death in 1963, she remarried to
Heisley “Hi” Thompson in 1969. She loved to
dance and competed in competitions. Lois
and Hi traveled extensively living
in Holland, Algeria and Japan.
Lois is preceded in death by
her parents; her husbands; and
her sister, Opal Waldron. She is
survived by her daughters and
son-in-law, Ginger Brown and
Georgia and Chris Vosberg; her
sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen
and Bobbie Perkins, Rex
Perkins and Michael and Lacey
Perkins; her sister, Ruth Mahn;
her brothers, Charles Nordstrom
and Oliver Nordstrom; 15 grandchildren;
and 30 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 4:00
p.m., Friday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral
