Homicide detectives recovered a pickup they believe may have been used by the suspect in a shooting Tuesday.
Lucas Knight, 25, was shot at the Motel 6 at 1010 N. Garnett Road at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
An anonymous caller contacted police after hearing a gunshot and then a man say "I'm going to die," the Tulsa World previously reported.
Knight was taken by private car to Hillcrest Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical condition. Knight's condition has since improved, Sgt. Dave Walker said.
Investigators later named Donald Hallett, 44, as a suspect in the shooting. Hallett is white, 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds, police said. He has brown hair.
Officers found Hallett's 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 117 E. 17th St. about 8 p.m. Wednesday, Walker said.
Anyone with more information about Hallett's whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677), online at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers or via text message at CRIMES (274637). Homicide detectives can be reached directly at 918-798-8477 or via email at homicide@cityoftulsa.org.
