Black Friday will include another special event for shoppers venturing to Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa.

Louisiana-based Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands in the nation, is opening its first Tulsa location Friday in the mall's food court.

The Woodland Hills Mall location is Raising Cane's first in Tulsa, seventh in Oklahoma and the 143rd overall across 17 states.

Raising Cane's specializes in premium chicken tenderloins, along with crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, sweet tea and a "secret sauce."

"It's amazing how many 'Caniacs' there are in Tulsa already, and we haven't even opened up yet," General Manager Pieter Kreulen said prior to the restaurant's opening Friday.

"They tell me they've been to our restaurants in other Oklahoma markets, or even in Louisiana."

The Woodland Hills location will employ about 50 people, officials said.

Kreulen said the chain believes in giving back to the cities it operates in.

"Active support in our local communities is a huge part of Raising Cane's corporate DNA, so you'll be seeing us getting heavily involved in Tulsa's schools and nonprofit organizations over the coming months and years," he said.

Founded by Todd Graves in 1996 in Baton Rouge, La., Raising Cane's has multiple new restaurants under construction in various markets.
