A Bixby woman was arrested Saturday after being accused of failing to protect her 10-year-old daughter as her boyfriend allegedly struck the child multiple times in the face.
Rachelle Delois Symank, 27, was booked into the Tulsa Jail on a child endangerment complaint, according to jail records. Her bail has been set at $25,000.
Shane Allen Williams was arrested on a domestic assault and battery complaint.
A witness told police that he observed a man strike a juvenile female in the face with his left hand while inside a car in the 11600 block of South Memorial Drive about 5:30 p.m. Friday, a police report said.
Bixby police later interviewed Symank, who confirmed she was in the vehicle with her boyfriend, Shane Allen Williams, when her 10-year-old daughter said something that angered him, the report said.
Williams then allegedly hit the girl three times in the head and face, police said.
When Symank was asked by police if she said anything to Williams following the incident, she said she told him that "he went too far," the report said.
Symank denied contacting police following the attack, police said.
During interviews with detectives, the girl confirmed Williams hit her, said the report.
She then stated, "I never talk to him after he hits me," when asked if she spoke to her mother or Williams after she was struck.
