Ruth G. Freeman passed away
peacefully on November 17, 2012
at the age of 86. She grew up in
Beloit, Wisconsin, receiving her
undergraduate and graduate degrees
from the University of Wisconsin.
After practicing occupational
therapy, Ruth taught first
grade at Riverdale C.D.S. in New
York before raising her family.
Moving to Tulsa in 1966, Ruth was
an aide at Holland Hall School for
several years where her husband
Tom Freeman was an administrator until
retiring in 1989. Ruth loved gardening, decorating,
reading historical fiction, and taking
part in play reading and antique groups.
She also loved the outdoors, especially
sailing with Tom, whom
she married in 1951 and who survives
her. Her children Cynthia,
Andrea, and John, eight grandchildren,
two brothers Edward
and Fritz Gruztner, and her larger
family of relatives and friends will
remember her beautiful smile.
The family wishes to thank
the staff at the Memory Center
of Saint Simeon’s for their
love and care during Ruth’s
final days. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to Saint Simeon’s Episcopal
Home, Holland Hall School or Up
With Trees. Memorial service pending.
