Already with a road victory this season - a 69-60 triumph at Florida International on Nov. 17 - the unbeaten Stephen F. Austin basketball team visits the University of Tulsa for Saturday's 3 p.m. contest at the Reynolds Center.

Stephen F. Austin was picked to finish second behind Oral Roberts in the Southland Conference preseason poll. While the Lumberjacks are 3-0 for the first since the 2003-04 season, the Golden Hurricane improved to 4-1 with an 86-66 win over Jackson State.

In two home games, Hurricane freshman guard James Woodard has scored 28 points (against LSU-Shreveport) and 27 points (against Jackson State). Woodard leads TU in scoring at 17.8. The status of Tulsa's No. 2 scorer - sophomore forward Rashad Smith - is uncertain.

Smith was sidelined during the Jackson State game because of a foot injury. If Smith can't play on Saturday, TU coach Danny Manning hopes to have the 6-foot-7 sophomore back in the lineup for Wednesday's test at Wichita State. Smith has a 14.5-point scoring average.

Former Bixby High School star Jacob Parker is a starter for Stephen F. Austin. The 6-6 sophomore averages 5.7 points per game. During the Lumberjacks' victory at Florida International, he scored a career-high 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

The Stephen F. Austin-TU game originally was scheduled for 2 p.m., but the start time was shifted an hour later because the Tulsa football team is playing an 11 a.m. Conference USA contest at SMU.

After the Reynolds Center doors open at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, the TU-SMU football telecast will be shown on the arena's video board and also on video monitors throughout the concourse level.
