People & Places: Tulsa Ballet's annual benefit gala, special performance set for Feb. 16

Artists of Tulsa Ballet will present a one-night-only special performance during the company's annual gala Icons and Idols on Feb. 16 at the Tulsa Convention Center.
The evening of black-tie glamour will also entertain with cocktails, dinner, a live auction and a celebration of Tulsa Ballet's artistry from the studio to the stage, with modern video installations and displays of sets and costumes.
The gala committee heard plans for the benefit during a meeting and on-stage celebration at Tulsa Ballet's Studio K. Event chairs Betty and Steve Pirnat said plans are to emulate the success of last spring's inaugural event, which raised nearly $900,000.
The annual gala supports world-class dance and outreach programs for the community. Mollie Williford is the presenting sponsor. Other major sponsors include Lou and Connie Miller Foundation, Hannah and Joe Robson, the Barnett Family Foundation, Mary Wheeler and Spencer Brown, the Kivisto Family Fund, Suzanne and Jim Kneale, Jackie Kouri and Gary Paxton, Betty and Steve Pirnat, Kathy and Bob West, the Williams Foundation, and many more.
