FIRST QUARTER
Key play: SMU's Ja'Gared Davis blocked a Cole Way punt that was recovered by Derek Longoria at the TU 3-yard line. On the next play, Zach Line carried it in for the score.
Key stat: 10-15. TU running backs combined for just 15 yards on 10 attempts.
Number to know: 43. Instead of trying a 43-yard field goal, TU went for it on fourth-and-10. The pass was incomplete, and TU turned the ball over on downs.

Key play: SMU wide receiver Der'rikk Thompson caught a 25-yard pass from Garrett Gilbert for the Mustangs third touchdown on the day.
Key stat: 3-4. The Golden Hurricane converted 3-of-4 fourth-down attempts in its last drive before halftime. However, TU failed to score.
Number to know: 74. SMU quarterback Garrett Gilbert ran it up the middle untouched for a 74-yard touchdown.

Key stat: 7-8. TU quarterback Cody Green was 7-of-8 passing for 106 yards and one touchdown.
Number to know: 31. TU's Green connected with Willie Carter on a 31-yard touchdown pass for the Hurricane's first points of the second half.
