WYANDOTTE — An adult driver and three teens were killed in a head-on collision about three miles east of Wyandotte on Sunday.
Samantha Delamatter, 19, of Fairland; Willis George Jr., 39, of Webb City, Mo.; and Drake Cobb, 14, and Syrrena Sanderson, 13, both of Garland, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. 60 about half a mile west of Ottawa County Road 680, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
George was driving a 2003 Ford Mustang east on U.S. 60 when his car veered into oncoming traffic about 4:20 p.m., troopers said.
The Mustang struck a 2000 Ford Ranger driven by Spencer Anderson, 22, of Fairland. Anderson was flown to a Joplin, Mo., hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his head, arms and legs and was released.
Cobb and Sanderson were passengers in the Mustang. A third passenger, Maryssa Sanderson, 7, of Garland, Texas, was hospitalized in serious condition.
Delamatter was riding in Anderson’s pickup.
George, Cobb and Anderson were wearing seat belts. Delamatter, Syrrena Sanderson and Maryssa Sanderson were not, the report states.
Note: The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has issued a corrected report that changes the order of the Mustang driver's first and last names. This story has been corrected accordingly.
