For the second time this season, University of Tulsa guard James Woodard has been named the Conference USA basketball freshman of the week.

During an 86-66 victory over Jackson State, Woodard finished 10-of-18 on shots from the field and scored 27 points. He connected on three 3-point shots and totaled four assists. During TU’s home loss to Stephen F. Austin, the former Edmond Memorial star had 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Woodard also was named the freshman of the week on Nov. 12, after having scored 28 points in his first college game – TU’s 110-54 triumph over LSU-Shreveport.

The C-USA player of the week is Southern Miss forward Jonathan Mills, who in three Golden Eagle victories averaged 14.7 points (on 17-of-21 shooting) and 8.3 rebounds.
