Charges were filed Tuesday in connection with the shooting of a man outside a Tulsa motel last week.
Donald Hallett, 44, of Tulsa is charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, Tulsa County District Court filings show.
Prosecutors allege that Hallett shot Lucas Knight, 25, at the Motel 6 at 1010 N. Garnett Road about 12:30 a.m. Nov. 20.
Investigators found blood on the door of a motel room but no victim at the scene, police said.
Witnesses told police that a dark pickup had fled from the motel.
A few minutes after the shooting, Knight was dropped off at Hillcrest Medical Center by people in a dark-colored pickup, homicide detectives said. He was admitted in critical condition, police said.
Hallett, who was not in custody as of Tuesday, is described as white with brown hair, 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about Hallett is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677) or tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers or contact homicide detectives directly at 918-798-8477 or homicide@cityoftulsa.org.
