Afghanistan: As of Monday, at least 2,029 members of the U.S. military had died as a result of the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, according to an Associated Press count.
The latest death reported by the military:
- Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Kevin R. Ebbert, 32, of Arcata, Calif., died Saturday while supporting stability operations in Uruzgan province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit in Virginia Beach, Va.
