A closer look at the Knights
Offense: In Conference USA play, the Knights ended the regular season by ranking second in the league in scoring (38.8-point average), second in rushing (196 yards per game), 10th in passing (217-yard average) and seventh in total offense (414 yards per game).
Defense: In Conference USA play, the Knights ended the regular season by ranking first in the league in points allowed (21.6 per game), fifth in rushing defense (157 yards per game), third in pass defense (232 yards per game) and fifth in total defense (389 yards allowed per game).
Blake Bortles: In league play, UCF's sophomore quarterback completed 63 percent of his passes. He had 11 TD passes against only two interceptions.
Quincy McDuffie: In addition to his standing as C-USA's most prolific kickoff-return specialist, the UCF wide receiver totaled 27 catches this season. Against UAB last week, he was used effectively in the ground game. McDuffie scored on runs of 9, 8 and 43 yards.
Latavius Murray: UCF entered the Nov. 17 Tulsa game with a streak of four consecutive 100-yard rushing performances, but was limited by the Hurricane to 60 yards on 22 attempts. For the season, Murray averages 101.7 yards per game.
