OKLAHOMA CITY— Prosecutors said an Oklahoma City dentist has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to a Medicaid fraud charge.
The attorney general's office said Wednesday that 44-year-old Robin Lockwood falsified treatment notes between mid-2007 and late 2010, "upcoded" bills and sought payments for work not covered by Medicaid.
The AG's office, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services investigated the case.
Among the accusations was that Lockwood placed dental restorations on certain teeth when she hadn't treated them at all. By filing false claims, she picked up extra money from the Medicaid program, according to prosecutors.
The AG's office has a Medicaid fraud control unit.
