Christkindlmarkt German craft fair offers gift items, food

The German American Society will transform into a winter wonderland this weekend for its annual German arts and crafts and food fair, Christkindlmarkt.
The fair runs Friday through Sunday, and admission is free. The building is just west of Lewis Avenue on 15th Street.
The German Christmas fair features decorations, gifts, chocolates, baked goods and fresh food. For a menu and price list, go to tulsaworld.com/christkindlmarkt
Some of the wares include a great selection of Christmas tree ornaments, nutcrackers and gift items imported from Germany.
There will be a large selection of imported German cookies, candies, chocolates and cakes as well as Germany's famous Christmas Stollen.
Christkindlmarkt offers a variety of Wurst, Kartoffelpuffer, Apfelstrudel, Schnitzel and hot beverages.
Children can have their pictures taken with the Christkindl and St. Nikolaus. Christkindlmarkt also has a "Spielstube," where children can watch a puppet show and listen to Christmas stories or enjoy hands-on activities and goodies.
The hours are Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
