OKLAHOMA CITY - A woman is accused of threatening to kill another woman and her family unless she was paid $18,000, court papers show.
Rosa Elena Montenegro, 42, of Oklahoma City, was charged Wednesday in Oklahoma County District Court with attempted extortion.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Montenegro first confronted Clemencia Tamayo on Sept. 26 at Tamayo's home in the 1300 block of S Blackwelder Avenue.
Tamayo said Montenegro accused her son of stealing $18,000 from Montenegro's house, and told her that if the money wasn't returned “people would start taking (Tamayo's) kids and people would start dying,” police reported.
