Sooner-bred country superstar Reba McEntire is to perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, 777 W. Cherokee St., Catoosa.
The show quickly sold out, with the intimate venue seating about 2,700 people. All patrons must be at least 21 years old.
McEntire's career spans more than 40 years, 56 million album sales and 64 Billboard Top 10 hits. She has released 26 studio albums since 1977. She also led a successful situation comedy titled "Reba," the No. 1-rated sitcom for six years on two networks.
The 57-year-old returned to television this fall with the ABC comedy "Malibu Country." She's debuted new music through the sitcom, as well.
When asked by Entertainment Weekly how much new music will be featured in the show, she answered: "We hope a lot because that's what the fans are really asking for. They're really excited about me playing a country singer."
She also recently won the Annie Oakley Society Award for demonstrating leadership and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Great American West at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
Last year, she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She is one of only four entertainers in history to be honored with a National Artistic Achievement Award by Congress.
She has yet to be inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
