Shop for the holidays, get decorating tips and enjoy the festive ambiance at two Christmas craft fairs this week.
Tulsa Herb Society's Carols & Crumpets and the German American Society's Christkindlmarkt are annual festivities during the holidays that feature crafts, food and entertainment.
Christkindlmarkt runs Friday through Sunday, and admission is free. The building is just west of Lewis Avenue on 15th Street.
The German Christmas fair features decorations, gifts, chocolates, baked goods and fresh food. Other wares include a great selection of Christmas tree ornaments, nutcrackers and gift items imported from Germany.
There will be imported German cookies, candies, chocolates and cakes as well as Germany's famous Christmas Stollen. Guests can also sample foods such as wurst, kartoffelpuffer, apfelstrudel, schnitzel sandwiches and hot beverages.
Children can have their pictures taken with the Christkindl and St. Nikolaus, watch a puppet show and listen to Christmas stories.
Carols & Crumpets will be Saturday at the Tulsa Garden Center, 2435 S. Peoria Ave. Admission is free.
Buy the chutney and flavored vinegars that have become a tradition of the event. A variety of vendors will bring unique items including foods, scents, lace, wood pieces, metal works, wreaths, pins, poinsettias and loads of herbs.
Pick up decorating tips at the Greenery Booth, and the Snowflake Cafe will be open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch.
