Next year, 2013, has been called the year of tax reform, yet talk in Washington, D.C., is for a flat tax, why?

The 16th Amendment was passed as a flat tax on the rich and today we are shouldered with another flat tax - payroll taxes.

Taxes are used as a political tool by lowering them one year and threatening to allow the reduction to expire the next.

In a nutshell, we've tried a flat tax; it failed. We are sick and tired of government tinkering with the system when it needs to be thrown out all together.

I propose we remove all taxes on productivity and success and move it to consumption. We are, after all, the biggest consumer in the world so we can raise the same revenue without burdening the economy.

The FairTax plan does all of this and more yet government hides it in committee because it removes the power of the tax code from them and puts it squarely back in the hands of "we the people."

I urge you to research it and tell your friends because we cannot trust government to reform the tax system, we need to force them to replace it.
