If the Oral Roberts University women's basketball team hopes to end a two-game losing streak, the Golden Eagles will have to do a better job of containing Missouri State's Christiana Shorter.
A senior forward from Booker T. Washington high school, Shorter hit 11-of-17 shots and produced a double-double (career-best 27 points, 10 rebounds) in Missouri State's 85-79 victory over ORU at the Mabee Center last season.
A rematch arrives Thursday night in Springfield, Mo.
Shorter, a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference player, is averaging a team-best 17.3 points in her farewell season. She helped the Bears to two WNIT victories last season before a third-round loss to eventual champion Oklahoma State.
ORU opened the season with victories over Tulsa and Texas-Arlington, but since has been dealt lopsided defeats by Arkansas and UALR.
