The matchup: Vian has scored a state-record 819 points, including scoring 53 or more points in each of its first 12 games before being held to 43 points in last week's win over Hennessey. Vian averages 63.0 points per game. ... Vian's defense has posted six shutouts this season and gives up an average of 5.4 points per game. ... Davis has scored an average of 48.7 points per game, including a stretch of eight consecutive games with 49 points or more. Davis allows an average of 11.1 points per game. ... Both teams are blessed with plenty of speed, and Davis runs the wishbone.

Notable: This is Vian's first trip to the semifinals since finishing runner-up to Oklahoma City Millwood in 2006. This is the 35th trip to the playoffs for Vian, while Davis has reached the postseason in each of the past 29 years. ... History? Not much, as Vian won the only time these teams played, 34-27 in the 2006 semifinals.
