NORMAN - No. 12 Oklahoma took the good with the bad on Thursday as it lost a player to a season-ending injury, then later throttled Northwestern (La.) State 96-35 at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Freshman guard Maddie Manning will miss the rest of the regular season because of a knee injury.
Coach Sherri Coale announced Thursday that Manning would need surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee. Coale says Manning was hurt in practice on Wednesday.
OU (6-1) won its fifth straight game, led by junior guard Aaryn Ellenberg's 22-point night.
Freshman Nicole Kornet, who replaced Manning in the starting lineup, scored a career-high 19 points. Juniors Nicole Griffin (12) and Morgan Hook (10) also scored in double figures for OU.
