ORU women drop OT contest to Mo. State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Oral Roberts University let a late 10-point lead slip away on Thursday night as the Golden Eagles lost in overtime, 73-72, to Missouri State.

ORU senior Kevi Luper scored 40 points in the loss. She was 14-of-32 from the floor, 4-of-9 from 3-point range and 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. She added five steals and four rebounds.

Luper's 40 points set a new JQH Arena record. The building has housed the Missouri State program since 2008.

Jaci Bigham added 15 points and nine assists, and Savanna Buck added a career-high 14 rebounds.

Missouri State (4-2) was led by former Booker T. Washington standout Christiana Shorter, who was 10-of-11 from the floor and scored 21 points.

ORU returns to the Mabee Center on Wednesday to host Evangel University at noon.
