Carl Albert junior quarterback Steven Thompson made the meaningful plays. He scored on a 14-yard run in the second quarter, raced 56 yards in the third quarter to set up the go-ahead field goal, and polished off the Cards by scoring on short runs after his fourth and fifth interceptions of the postseason to put the game out of reach, 24-8, with 3:02 left.
