Key play: East Central's Stanvon Taylor had a 46-yard punt to the Carl Albert 21 to shift field position after Carl Albert's first two punts went a combined 33 yards.
Key stat: 5. That is how many plays it took for East Central to have a positive offensive play after losses on the first three plays and an incompletion. On the fifth play, Tre'von Cherry passed 19 yards to Taylor.
Number to know: 59. Total yards the teams combined for in the quarter. East Central had 18 yards and Carl Albert gained 41. There were only two passes in the period.

Key play: The quarter opened with Taylor passing 34 yards from punt formation to Deontre Youngblood to move the ball to the Carl Albert 1. Cherry scored on a quarterback sneak on the next play. East Central took the lead on a two-point conversion with Taylor's pass to Cherry following its touchdown.
Key stat: East Central completed 8-of-10 passes in the quarter, counting the conversion. That was important as the Cardinals' running game was totally shut down in the first half with minus-4 yards.
Number to know: 56. Yardage on Taylor's second punt that again helped the Cardinals with field position.

Key play: Carl Albert quarterback Steven Thompson's 56-yard keeper to the Cardinals 12 late in the third quarter put East Central's lead in jeopardy. Thompson began the play around left end and was finally tackled on the right sideline by Trent Williams.
Key stat: 14. Rushing yards in the third quarter by East Central, which tried to launch its running game, but was largely unsuccessful.
Number to know: 34. East Central had a pair of 34-yard completions - Stanvon Taylor to Tre'von Cherry and Cherry to Taylor. For Taylor, that was his second 34-yard pass of the game.

Key play: With Carl Albert leading only 10-8, East Central quarterback Tre'von Cherry's third-and-14 pass from his end zone was intercepted by Steven Thompson, who returned it 19 yards to the 3. The overthrown pass over the middle was intended for Stanvon Taylor. Thompson scored on a keeper on the next play to give the Titans a 17-8 lead with 6:29 left.
Key stat: 4. Consecutive penalties against East Central without a snap before the pivotal interception. The Cardinals were called for illegal motion three times and delay of game after initially facing a third-and-5.
