Blanchard defense smothers Jones to advance to 3A title game

Blanchard brought a Doomsday Defense to Putnam City Stadium on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
The Lions pounded Jones, 35-7, to advance to a Class 3A state championship football game for the first time since 1979. Blanchard will face Kingfisher for the title.
Most of the credit goes to their dominating defense.
Blanchard's front seven defenders hit, hurried and harassed Jones quarterback David Cornwell all afternoon, sacking the 6-5, 215-pound prospect that college scouts are drooling over seven times.
