Roy Wayne Hopkins was born in Stilwell,
OK December 2, 1946. Went to be with the
Lord and Steven, Thursday, November 29,
2012 in Jenks. Wayne was raised in Stilwell
and graduated from Stilwell High School
in 1965. After High School he joined the
Air Force, was stationed at Little Rock Air
Force Base. While in the Air Force he married
his high school sweetheart Karen Worsham.
Wayne graduated from Northeastern
State University majoring in Business Administration
and Accounting in 1974. While
in high school he loved sports, participating
in football, basketball and track. His love
of sports carried over to OU Football and
the Dallas Cowboys. Wayne had a love of
life and fun. He went through lots of hobbies,
but his dearest hobby became his tomato
patch. He worked himself so hard the
neighbors finally dug up all 35 plants and
told him No More! Wayne moved to Tulsa
to run Hopkins Transports in 1981. After
selling he started Medical Compliance Specialty
Inc. (MCSI) and ran it until his death.
Wayne and his family are members of Beaver
Street Baptist Church in Jenks. Wayne
was a member of the Masonic Flint Lodge
#11 in Stilwell where he was Worshipful
Master and held many more offices. He was
a 32 Degree Scottish Rite member in Tulsa.
Wayne was preceded in death by his son
Steven Wayne, his parents Charlie and Edith
Hopkins, sisters Marcella O’Neal, Trudy
Moon and one brother Jim D. Hopkins.
Wayne has left behind Karen, his wife of
43 years, their daughter Angie of the home
and a daughter-in-law Darci Hopkins of
Fenton, MO, one brother Charles and wife
Rena of Arkansas City, KS and sister-in-law
Sue Hopkins of Tahlequah, OK, many, many
nieces, nephews and other family members.
Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Thursday,
December 6, 2012, Moore’s Eastlawn
Chapel, committal and Masonic Rite, 2:00
p.m., New Hope Cemetery, Stilwell, OK.
