1949-2012 Corry was born on April 21, 1949, and transitioned from this life on November 6, 2012. She was the mother of Erik Weston of Muskogee, wife to Les Weston of the home outside Fort Gibson, sister to Pete Spoor and his wife Judy of Centennial, Colorado, half-sister to Jerry Spoor of Lake Placid, New York, and sister-in-law to Jim and Meg Weston of Bedford, Massachusetts. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted friend to many through both good times and bad. Her late parents Gerald and Netty Spoor were both born in Netherlands but met and married in New York State. They moved to Tulsa close to friends and owned the Holland Nursery on south Peoria until retirement. Corry grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s and learned to express her opinions in the 1970’s. She was a member of the class of 1967 at Memorial High School, attended Color’ ado College, and received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tulsa. She was proud to be called a liberal and progressive. She was never afraid to let people know where she stood on the environment or social issues. She loved nature and everything in it. In 1995, Corry, Les, and Erik moved to a rural area outside Fort Gibson where animal rescues became another passion. She loved being around her rescued dogs and horses. One of her last projects this fall was rescuing and adopting a young border collie, “Sam”. A commitment ceremony will be held for Corry at Fort Gibson National Cemetery on Tuesday December 4th at 10 AM. Memorial services will follow at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tahlequah at 2 PM, on Tuesday December 4, 2012; and at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa at 2 PM, on Wednesday December 5, 2012.
