Carolyn Joyce Chalmers was born on August 19, 1926 in Tecumseh, OK to Caleb and Callie Stewart. She passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the age of 86. Joyce was married to Sam Chalmers for 52 years. They traveled throughout the world and were active with their businesses, Arrowwood and Global Energy Products. But they were never happier than when they were at their lake house at Grand Lake, fishing for crappie. She loved her boys, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her constant companion, Sassy, and birds. Joyce was a member of several bridge clubs as well as Toutlemonde, all of which gave her a great deal of enjoyment. She was blessed with a loyal group of friends, who her family would like to thank for their steadfast devotion to her throughout all her days. Joyce’s parents; her husband, Sam; her son, Stewart; and her brothers, Cliff and Bill, preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother, Charlie, of Shawnee, OK; her sons and spouses, Bill and Ann Chalmers of Frisco, TX and Marc and Cathy Chalmers of Tulsa, OK; her grandchildren and spouses, Robert and Stacy Chalmers of Lewisville, TX, Matt and Lulu Chalmers of Frisco, TX, Sara Chalmers of Abilene, TX, and Carly Chalmers of Tulsa, OK; and great grandchildren, Elle, Beau and Zain Chalmers. The family also wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Frankie Cooper, Margene McKenzie and Visiting Nurse Association of Tulsa for their loving care of Joyce. Memorial service for Joyce will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Ninde Brookside Chapel.
