Three people were displaced by a house fire Monday morning.
Fire crews arrived in the 300 block of East Xyler Street around 7:15 a.m. to find flames and smoke showing from an area of the home’s roof near a converted garage, said District Chief Bennie Herring.
Three people inside the home were exiting when firefighters arrived. They were not injured.
The fire appeared to be accidental, but an investigator was dispatched to determine the cause and the extent of the damage to the home.
Herring said a heater near combustibles in an area of the home used for storage could have sparked the blaze.
The fire department contacted the Tulsa chapter of the American Red Cross to assist the residents with lodging and other needs.
