ALLEN PARK, Mich. — Lions wide receiver Ryan Broyles will need another knee operation after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament in Sunday’s loss to Indianapolis.
The former OU star and Norman High School graduate hurt his right knee, and coach Jim Schwartz says the promising rookie will need surgery. He also tore an ACL while he was a senior at Oklahoma, but that was in his left knee.
With Broyles out, the Lions suddenly have a very thin receiving corps behind star Calvin Johnson. Schwartz said Monday that Titus Young is away from the team again — and he gave no indication when or if the exiled receiver might return. Detroit previously lost Nate Burleson to a season-ending knee injury.
Broyles has 22 catches for 310 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
