The state Department of Agriculture reported the following closing prices Monday at the Tulsa Stockyards:

Receipts: 3,841; week ago: 2,622.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers steady with a very light test. Steer calves under 450 lbs. $8-12 lower, over 450 lbs. steady-$4 higher. Heifer calves steady, $8 higher. Quality plain to attractive, condition thin to fleshy. Supply included 12 percent over 600 lbs.,44 percent heifers 453 cows and bulls.

Receipts: 10,000; week ago: 6,085; year ago: 7,577.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 1-2 higher. Feeder heifers steady to 2 higher. Demand very good for the limited numbers of feeder cattle. Steer and heifer calves 4-6 lower. Demand light to moderate for calves. Weather continues to be the major influence on the calf market. Temperatures in the upper 70's broke long time records over the weekend. Strong winds blowing out of the south today with another warm day expected and very little to no rain in the upcoming forecast. Quality plain thru attractive.
