Freezing temperatures return to Tulsa; weekend rain chances forecast

Tulsa World Weather: A new weather site powered by the Tulsa staff of the National Weather Service. The partnership allows Tulsa World readers to receive weather alerts, forecasts and current conditions as the staff issues them.

For the first time this month, Tulsa recorded freezing temperatures this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Tulsa had a low of 31 degrees between 4 and 6 a.m. today. That is the lowest temperature in Tulsa since the 27 degrees recorded Nov. 28, according to the weather service.

Tulsa's temperatures are expected to reach into the 60s through Friday, with overnight lows in the 40s through Sunday night, when temperatures are expected to drop to near freezing 30s once again.

Not including today, Tulsa's highest temperature so far this month was 77 degrees Saturday. The lowest was 36 degrees Monday.

Rain chances are also expected to return to Tulsa this weekend, with 20 percent chances on Friday and Saturday, and slight chances forecast for Sunday, according to the weather service.

Tulsa's only rain recorded so far this month was 0.05 of an inch Sunday, according to the weather service.
