Fleetwood Mac announces Tulsa tour stop

Iconic rock act Fleetwood Mac announced a world tour this week, including a May 1 stop at Tulsa's BOK Center, Live Nation confirmed Tuesday.
The tour kicks off in April and is the first since 2009, reports Billboard and Pollstar Pro music industry magazines.
Ticket are $49.50, $79.50 and $149.50, plus fees and will go on sale 10 a.m. Dec. 17, available at tulsaworld.com/bok, the Arby's Box Office at the BOK Center, all Tickets.com outlets, or by calling 866-726-5287, venue management confirmed.
"It's the perfect time to go back out," Stevie Nicks recently told Rolling Stone. "2013 is going to be the year of Fleetwood Mac."
The tour will showcase the band's 40-plus years of greatest hits and may also include some new music.
The Washington Post reports that Nicks has recorded two new songs with Fleetwood Mac members Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.
"Everybody wants two songs, so we're going to give them two songs," the Washington Post quotes Nicks as saying.
Buckingham called them "the most Fleetwood Mac-y stuff ... in a long time," the Post reports. "Maybe we'll get an EP out of it or something."
This tour includes founding members Fleetwood and McVie, with Buckingham and Nicks, who joined in 1975.
The blues-rock band formed in 1967 in London and created a string of memorable tunes in its career, including "Rhiannon," "Go Your Own Way," "Gypsy," "Tusk," "Dreams," "Little Lies," "Say You Love Me," "Sara" and more.
The tour also marks the 35th anniversary of "Rumours," one of the most successful albums in recorded history with more than 40 million copies sold.
"Having started Fleetwood Mac with John McVie in 1967, it has always been so gratifying that, despite the various incarnations, the band has survived," Fleetwood said in a press statement.
"Throughout the years, though, the one thing that has remained constant is our fans. I am looking forward to getting back behind the kit, reconnecting with the fans and sharing the stage with my fellow band members."
The band last performed together at Tulsa's BOK Center in 2009.
