Police are searching for a man who held up a Popeye’s Chicken restaurant on Tuesday.

The robber entered the Popeye’s Chicken at 1117 E. Pine St., ordered food and sat down in the lobby area around 9 p.m., Tulsa Police Officer Jillian Roberson said.

He later asked to speak with a manager and told employees, “This is a stickup. Everybody get down,” while touching a handgun in his waistband, she said. He then demanded the manager open the safe before running north from the restaurant, according to police.

The robber is described as a “scruffy-looking” white or Hispanic man, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie cap and a brown leather jacket.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677), online at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers or via text message at CRIMES (274637).
