1920 – 2012 Florine M. Wallace, 92, of Oktaha died Sunday in Okmulgee. Florine was born October 21, 1920 to Frank and Maude (Potts) Murphy in Boynton where she was raised and graduated from high school. She continued her education at Connors State College and Northeastern State University. Florine taught at Georgetown, before marrying Buck Wallace on February 20, 1942. They had lived in the same home in Oktaha since they were married. Buck preceded her in death in December of 1989. She taught school for 32 years with many years teaching at Oktaha. Florine helped her husband, Buck, for many years as they were in farming and ranching. They received many awards mostly for soil conservation. She was an avid sports fan having played basketball in her youth and she loved barrel racing with her daughter, Betty. Florine was a member of Oktaha United Methodist Church. She served as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and pianist. Florine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Buck Wallace, and her sister, Blanche Turley. She is survived by her son, Bill Wallace, of Morris and his children, Jina Tolle and her husband, Chad, and their children, Payton Tolle, Charlie Tolle. Jill Castilla and her husband, Marcus, and their children, Ryan Castilla, Olivia Castilla and Nicholas Castilla and his son Ty Wallace; daughter, Judy Martin and her husband, Luther, of Inola and their son, Mickey Martin and his wife, Kelly, of Inola and Kyla Martin; daughter, Betty Roper and her husband, Jimmy, and their son, J.W. Roper and his wife, Nikki and their children, Jaylie Roper, Jayco Roper, and Jernie Roper. Other survivors include nephews and their spouses, Phil and Edith Gross, Steve and Jan Gross and Jack and Ann Campbell. There will be a family visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Foster-Petering Funeral Home in Muskogee. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at Fosters’ Ivory Chapel. Interment will follow in Oktaha City Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
